Liking Someone

The beauty of motherhood, is when we get to share the days of our children, when they came back from school and tell us what happened during the day.

Timmy told me this: "Mom, it's funny how liking someone is an unexplainable feelings. You just like the person. It's not explainable scientifically, biologically. It just happened."

Oh...he is growing up.
I'm treasuring my motherhood days.
And I am glad to be able to share his growing up days together.

Love you my boy.

Indonesian Test

I just read the boy's Indonesian test.
He had to write an advertisement for the shoes. Just by given the drawings. What an ad. ðŸ˜„😄😀Hahaha...

He's creative.
I am proud of you Tim.

The words that he has chosen for the ad...
Toko Success that we know actually sells stationary.
But he can use it as the name of the store to sell shoes.

Funny Comment

Yesterday I read this on Facebook, I laughed after I read it and I read it aloud to Timmy. "Tim, listen to these:"

After reading it, he made a funny comment, saying: "Untung saya laki laki, jadi tidak perlu menjadi Ibu Rumah Tangga.  Iya ngga Pa?" and then approached his Dad and asked to high-five with him.  "Lucky that I'm a boy."  Hahahahaha....

Aiya ya......

Parts and Parcel of Motherhood.

Taking care of this boy since baby
sure takes a lot of effort.

Looking back at those days...
and realised how time flies.

Parenting is not easy...
There is no school that I can go to learn and obtain all the skills.
It's like jumping into the water and start swimming...

Well, he is 9 going to be 10 this year.
And few days back, he said: "I would love to live on my own, so I don't have to listen to you Mom."

I said: "Okay, if that's what you want. I'm not gonna hold you back. But before that, it means that I need to teach you some life skills."

So..last Saturday, he wanted Indomie for breakfast.
Tim: "Mom can you make me Indomie please?"
Me: "Why don't you make it yourself. I will teach you how."
Tim: Oh.....
Me: Well, you said you wanna live on your own...
Tim: Okay ...okay...

So, here's the photo of him making his indomie.
With spills here and there...
With "help Mom.... here and there."
Hahahahaha....

Another part of his milestone that I like to see blossoming is his social ability.
Photo was taken at the Pastoral Care at the Church.
Glad that he has this smiley face when I picked him up.

It was tough getting him to join this activity.
Things like "Mom, this is weekend. I have worked so hard from Monday to Friday to enjoy the weekend. and this program is from 10-3, so long, 5 hours. It's taking up my time. "

Well, I was so happy that when I picked him up, he had his smiley face on, running around here and there with the other kids. Thank God. :)

And after his homework was done, he requested for pizza.
He wanted to order one, to be delivered.
But I told him that we could make one instead.
Not one, but three.
Since there were 3 pizza bases.
..and we put generous extra toppings. hehehehe..

Last Sunday, I taught him how to iron his uniform. :)
Having no maid in the house, that means he needs to participate in the housework.
Well...he was scared when he used the iron.
...and his ironing needs improvement.
But I am glad....
at least that's a start.

Now the challenge is for me to be consistent.

Well....that' part of my motherhood and parenting days.
Love you Tim.   Hope that you will grow into a good man one day.

Speechless

The boy asked me:  "Mom, if I behave good for the whole week, am I allowed Rp. 2,000 per week?"
Me: "Okay, sure. But when you are not behaving well, then your allowance will be deducted proportionally."

(I thought that it will be a good  opportunity for him to learn how to manage his money, whether to save it, spend it or donate it).

The during the week, he didn't behave well 1 day, and it was reduced to Rp. 1,600.

Tim: "Mom, if there is a way of reducing my allowance, is there any way that I can increase it?"
Me: "Well, there is no way.  The only way is by growing up. The bigger you are, the more allowance that you will get."

(earlier during the week, he has been saying that growing up is not fun, more responsibility, bla bla bla)

Then few days past...
Tim: "Mom, you told me once before, that if I massage you for 10 minutes, you would pay me Rp. 2,000.   *showing his cheeky smile*  You said that right Mom?"

Me: "Yes, ehm..." (That was way long long time ago, and he never massaged me for 10 minutes).
I said that when I was super tired and his massage was good. But everytime he massaged, it was always short duration.

Tim: "So, from now on, if I massage you, I will turn on the timer. If I massage you for 10 minutes, it's Rp. 2,000, 20 minutes means Rp. 4,000.

Me: *Speechless"
Ah...this boy is so cheeky...
He comes up with the unthinkable solutions.
Hahahahaha...

Growing Up

Tim said: "Mom, it's not fun growing up.
The more I grow up, means the more things that I must do by myself.
The more responsibility that I have. I don't wanna grow up."

Speechless

Tim surprised me by saying this: "Mom, I take up so much work... Your life would have been much better without me."

I was stunt for a moment, after hearing that.

Note to Tim: "Tim, God has entrusted you into our care, and I am glad to have you. No matter how much work it is, I will always love you.  There are moments when I feel stressed out, don't know what to do, and I seek God's guidance.  I am still learning on how be a Mom.   Let's learn together and be a better person, okay?"

School

Tim: "This week, I only need to go to school for 2 days, and tomorrow will be holiday. Then I go to to school for 2 days, then it's the weekend. Next week, there's holiday again Long weekend.
Ah...April is a good month." Hahaha.

Agen Polisi 212

Introducing "Agen Polisi 212" to the elder generation. Hehehe...
Usually we passed it down to the next generation..
This time we passed it upwards. Hehehe...
Spread the fun and laughter with Grandma.

How Did I Come Out from your Body, Mom?

Tim: "Mom, how did I come out from your body? Did I come out from your tummy?"
Me: "No Tim, you didn't come out through my tummy."
Tim: "I didn't come out from your butt right?"
Me: "No, hahahaha..."

OK, that's a tough question. Time to get my body anatomy book out. The book was printed in 1989. It was my high school book. High school book to the rescue! Hahaha...

So....I answered his question. Showed him the anatomy to answer his question. Then elaborate on how the baby grow from month to month inside the tummy. Showed him his USG when he was inside. And shared the story of how he was finally born: Natural delivery without any epidural or any other types of pain killer.

Tim's Idea

Timmy's idea on how to prevent similar incident happening to MH 370.

1. Get the plane floating and contacting to the radar.

2. At the height of 1000 meter above the sea, the plane will activate the super large parachute on its own. The pilot doesn't have to control these systems.

3. At the height of 750 meter above sea level, the plane will take out super large inflated life saver with a motor to sea-transport using external fuel at the lifesaver. The lifesaver is equipped with Water Propeller with the speed of 100 KPH.

4. At the height of 500 meter above sea level, the plane will launch out the lifesaver.

5. When the lifesaver touch the sea, it will.settle a Plane-Pad for the plane to land.

6. When the plane lands on water safely, it will use its external radar to contact the HeadQuarters. The radar will contact the Head Quarter automatically.

Hahaha.

Kid's Day

...and Timmy said: "Mom, there's Mother's Day, there's Father's Day, is there any Kid's Day?" hahahaha...

When he read it, he asked: "What's the difference between International and Universal children day. Do they celebrate Children's day in the Universe too? Not just on earth?" Hahaha...
Me: "I don't know about that Tim. Hahaha Ah...you are my bundle of joy. "
Tim: "No Mom. I'm your bundle of questions. Hahaha." Me: "Hahahaha."

Andrea: Hehe well earth is in universe. Technically 20 nov is declared as children's day by united nations so that's why the name is universal children's day.

Timmy sure does asks a lot of questions. Heheheh.

Medan Trip

It was a long weekend here in Indonesia.
With that opportunity, we went to Medan as a family.

We woke up early in the morning at 03.30 am, to catch the 7 o'clock flight.
Timmy had his own bag, to pack his things.
He had an assignment from his English teacher to write a story on his Medan trip. :)

The boy was sitting in the plane,  while reading the Safety Instruction.
He chose the window seat.

And look, we can spot the air planes were queuing for take-off. :)

While we were on-board, I was reading the newspaper
and suddenly Timmy said to me: "Hey Mom, I know how I can make profit!  I buy at the low price and sell at the high price!" Then he made a big smile on his face.
Not long after, he said: "Ah....Mom, that's the price where the bank buy and the bank sell is it?   Ah...then I cannot make profit.   Gees...the bank is smart." Hahahahahaa...

(I remember learning about the rule with Sisilia at Uni:  "Buy Low, Sell High." )
This boy blurted it out when he is in Primary 3.  Hahahaha.

Father and son, upon reaching Kualanamu International Airport, Medan.
It was a bright sunny day...

The newly build airport is stylish and clean.

Us, early in the morning at Medan.

The boy's pose when I wanted to take a photo. :)

It was a coincidence that we arrived on the same day as the inauguration of the airport by the Indonesian President Dr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.    Luckily our plane arrived earlier.
We were scheduled to arrive on 09.20.  The inauguration started at 10.00.

Here's the snapshots of the Kualanamu International Airport, Medan.
The boarding gates are much nicer than Soekarno Hatta, Jakarta. :)

And here's our mode of transportation during the trip. Hehehehe.
HORAS!

Hersheys

We have these Hershey's at home.

One day Timmy said: "Mom, can I bring 1 Hersheys to school and give it to Audrey?"
Me: "Sure. Why not?"
Tim: "Oh, I want one for me too."
Me: "Okay."
Tim: "Oh, I want to bring one for my best friend Jo, too. Can I?"
Me: "Sure."
Tim: "So, I'll bring 3 and I wonder will 1 chocolate come back home again?"
Me:  "Well, you'll try.  Good luck." :)

Well, it turned out that the chocolate which was supposed to be given to her, was eaten by Timmy.   Hehehe.  He said that she was occupied....

Timmy told me that there were other times, when she came up to him, tap him on the back and smiled....  That made him froze like a statue, and stammered.
Ah....those puppy love are kicking in...

Isn't Hershey's slogan nice?
One of life's little rewards. ~ Hersheys.
Ah....so true...

How do you reward yourself? :)

Family Names

Timmy: "Mom, how many family names are there in the world?"

Me: "Wah... I don't know how many, Tim. A lot for sure."

Tim: "A lot ya Mom. But that's not right Mom. How can there be a lot of family names if God only created Adam and Eve in the first place?"

Well....I'm speechless. Don't know how to answer this boy....again. Hehe.
