Playdoh

We visited Times Book Store and Timmy saw FunDough.

He asked me: "Mom, can I buy this? It's not expensive. Only Rp. 15,000.
I told him: "No, Timmy. You can have a look at it, but we don't buy it this time."
He went back to the playdoh place. Looking, touching it and holding it around.

Then he noticed that there is the bigger ones, with purple playdoh. His favorite color. "Mom, can I buy this one? It is Rp. 30,000. And there is 10 in it.
The previous one only has 4 in it. It's not expensive. Can I Mom, please?"

Me: "No Timmy." I took out my wallet and show him the money..
This is 10 thousand, 5 thousand, 5 thousand, etc. Till it all adds up to 30,000.
But then Mommy has little cash left.

Timmy: "But Mom, that means that you have enough money to buy this."
Me: "Yes Tim, but I still need to pay for your medicine and the parking.
So, we'll buy it next time ok. In the mean time, you can get sticker from the nurse."

Timmy: "Hm? Sticker?"

Sticker is precious for kids and works wonders...
hehehehehe..

H2O2

I'm feeling very sad right now...

Yesterday I bought a bottle of H2O2 from an apotek opposite the market.
Apparently the % content of that thing is more than it should be!
The normal safe % should be 3%.
Gees! When it contacted with my fingers, my fingers were white and had burning sensation. With this kind of result, when I searched the internet, it is 30%!
Imagine 3% to 30%! Madness!!!!

The worst thing was that I've put it into Timmy's ears.

Man....we had sleepless night last night.
Timmy finally fell asleep at 3.00 am.

I tried to clean it by flushing lots of water into Timmy's ear.
Today, we went to see the ear, nose and throat specialist.
Hopefully Timmy's ear can be normal.

Gess! I'm so angry with that Apotik!

Star

Timmy got a star from his teacher yesterday for being good at school and listened to the teacher while in class. I love it!

He has been telling me that he's not good in class, right after he came out of the school gate. And I've been telling him how to behave at school over and over again. I started to get worried about it.

This star is like a gift for me! :)
I'm smiling and happy!

Our Letters

Two days ago, I had an idea for Timmy to write me a letter.
Here they are...

The first one he made was for me, and the writing was a bit big.
Then I told him to try writing within the lines, as I wrote him a letter too.
Following that, Timmy wrote another one for his dad, and this time, it's all neat and within the lines. :)

I'm proud of you Tim!

Timmy Nguping

The other day, I was having lunch with my Mom & Dad, with Timmy around. He was enjoying his pizza as we talked.

My Dad was saying: "Tutup satu mata, 50%. Kalo buka semuanya kan 100%." Suddenly Timmy said: "Kalo tutup semuanya, berapa %?"
hahahahahaha....

Apparently, he was listening to us.
He just looked so innocent, while eating his pizza.
hahahaha..

Timmy....Timmy....

Motherhood

Having read the article about "The Best and Worst Things being a Mom Today", I like this part:

Quote:
'Love them, be strict and honest with them, live a good life full of love and happiness and they will seek out the same.'"

The best parts of being a mom, some of you said, are the aspects that don't change from generation to generation, like the love that flows between you and your children, the kinship you feel with other mothers, and the wonder of watching your kids grow.

You appreciate the elements of modern motherhood that enhance the essential joy of being a mom and dislike the ones that steal from it. And in the end, despite all the challenges of being a mom now — and the difficulties moms have always faced — you know the payoff is worth it.

"It is and will be the best thing I've ever done"
"As a mother, you feel so many emotions — happy, sad, scared, and uncertain," said one mom. "But after you get the first month or so under your belt, it has to be the best feeling in the world!

"Words can't describe how much being a mom changes your life," she continued. "But there's nothing that can give you so much happiness. It is and will be the best thing I've ever done." Unquote.

Sssh! Don't tell Mom!

Early this week, Benny told me a funny incident.

He was in our room, taking his nap.
Timmy asked to watch "Jungle Beat", his current favorite DVD.
We have a habit of letting Timmy watch it, right after his shower.
But that day, Timmy refused to have a shower.
He asked me: "Mom, can I watch Jungle Beat?"
I told him: "You can watch it after your shower."
Timmy: "But I don't wanna have a shower."
Me: "Fine, if you don't wanna have your shower, I will go downstairs and cook. After I finish cooking, then you'll have your shower."

As I was downstairs, Timmy was in the room with Benny.
Then our boy turned the TV and DVD on.
The volume of the TV was quite loud (due to the setting from his last movie).
Timmy was shocked and ran to the TV to turned the volume down,
then ran to lock the door. After that, he just stood by the door, thinking....
Then, he paused the DVD, feeling guilty...
After that, he just sat still on the bed...

Benny told me, it was so funny, his action was like a teenager who wanted to watch dirty porn movie, not wanting his mom to know...

Oh my oh my....4 year old boy... :))

Berry Berry Berry

When we were in UK, we encountered different types of berry.
It was my first time seeing the blueberry tree.
Timmy had lots of fun!

Reunion

I had a very nice, fun reunion with my Melbourne Uni post-grad friends.
It was such a long time ago since we met.
With Nat & Ossin, the last time we met was our graduation!
While with Nurul and Audy, was when they had their juniors!

However, as we met, it seems as though time didn't fly much.
We clicked straight away just like how we used to be.
Laughing and making jokes...

We shared our life stories...

Nurul now has 4 kids, Audy has 2, Nat has 2 and Ossin is still single.
While me with Timmy.

It was very fun and we should do this more often!

From Yay! to Hmph again

Hm....it's from Yay to Hmph! again....
I'm upset....
Timmy was stuck at the gate again....
No!

I was very happy already on Monday that everything went well....
but yesterday and today, he was stuck at the gate again...

I wonder why?
Is it because of his lack of sleep?
He refused to take a nap in the afternoon, but we did just lie down on the bed.
At least he had some slow activity to wind down...

I am very annoyed and dissappointed.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Timmy told me that he miss me when he's at school.
This morning, we even read the book "Bubble goes to school".
But it didn't work.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better...

A Day with Timmy

I thought of writing this to remember this day as the sweet and sour day with Timmy, it would be a beautiful memory after he's grown up one day....

This morning I woke up early before Timmy did...
prepared the bread for him to bring to school...
not long after, Timmy woke up and the first word as he woke up was: "Mama".

Timmy's morning routine includes: milk right as he wakes up, pee in the toilet, tooth brushing, get cleaned & get dressed for school.

However, after he drank milk this morning, he threw up...
That's unusual...luckily as he felt uncomfortable, he ran straight to the closet...hence, no mess for me. (Thanks Tim) :)

I got him a drink and put some eucaliptus oil on his tummy and rubbed it to make him feel better.

He was very cooperative during rest of the morning routine, hence we still have some time left for fun before going to school.

The night before, I searched up You Tube and found "Xi Shua Shua" song. Timmy was so happy when I played this song for him, coz his teachers are using this song for their morning dance at school.

Time for breakfast...

Normally Timmy just has milk before school (as he will eat together with the rest of his friends in class).

However, since today his tummy was empty, I tried to get him to eat something before school. Bought bagelen bread the day before, but Timmy only took tiny bites of it. I was having Kellogs Corn Flakes with chocolate milk, and offered him some. Apparently he likes it! Yippee!

We had fun reading the story of how Dr. Kellogs accidently invented the Kellogs corn flakes which is now enjoyed by millions of people around the world.

As we reached the school gate, Timmy was very cooperative and brave today. Previously he would be stuck for some time, before entering the gate.
I have spent months of effort talking to him, and tried all sorts of methods to get him into school.

I hold his hand and told him that I will go through this with him. If he doesn't know the teachers who were standing in front of the gate, I will be there with him and let's introduce ourselves and asked them their names. That way, you'll know them already.... :)

At home, I also used the achievement charts, listed from Monday to Friday. Everytime he's good and brave, he'll get 1 stamp. Timmy is highly interested to have the outer space book. I told him that if he can collect 5 stamp for 5 days in a row, we'll go to the book store and buy it!

I have also tried all sorts of methods explaining to him why he should go to school.

Finally, it works!
Tralala, he entered the gate bravely and went up the stairs to his class room...

Towards midday, I had a nice surprise that Mom and my brother is around the neighbourhood. So, we picked Timmy up from school and headed to SMS for lunch. At the foodcourt, as we walked around, Timmy found KFC, and told me: "Mom, I have found what I wanna eat....my favorite". Hahahahaha...all of us ended up having KFC too. When we were kids, we used to love KFC...it's loved by generations...hahaha

Arriving home, I would bathe him, while he tried to 'clean' the bathroom...
putting water into his ex-shampoo bottle and sprayed it around on the wall. hehehe.

Then we did some drawing and writing together...

Time for an afternoon nap...
I thought that Timmy would have been tired by all of those activities, since he also had singing class today...but no...he didn't fall asleep as we lay down on the bed..
he kept on talking and talking and we ended up having a chat instead...hahahaha

Timmy put a pillow above my head, leaving some room for me to breathe, and then he came next to me and we chat under the pillow...hehehehe...
sweet...

Around 5 pm, I thought of asking him to play ball at the park next to our house.
Tried to improve his motoric skills...
At first, he was throwing and kicking the ball into the bushes...
I asked him to get it by himself as he did that...hehehe.
Then explained to him that if he does that it's difficult for us to get the ball.
It would be much for fun if we just kick it around the grass.
Finally he got the idea and we had fun...Tari, me and Timmy.
Throwing, kicking and catching the ball...for about half an hour..
Goolll....

Getting tired playing the ball, we ran towards the lake,
and Timmy did some 'gardening'. hehehehehe..

On the way home, he refused to get in and pointed the garden again.
He said: "Mom, look! The arrow is pointing this way... (i.e the garden)"
hehehehe...we played for another 15 minutes.

I've prepared dinner, spiral bolognaise pasta...

After we had our bedtime routine, as I was making the milk downstairs,
I overhead Timmy teaching his chickens...exactly the way I talked to him...
hahahaha...

We played another make-believe-pretend play...
Since they will be having 'Pajama's Day' on Thursday,
Timmy's little chicken will be going to school.
He was so excited telling his little chicken about school,
and I used this opportunity to play pretend, whereby his favourite little chicken would act like the way he was at the school gate and Timmy got to be the mother chicken...hehehehe...reverse role...

What I found funny was he used the words that I normally told him and told little chicken exactly as it is...hahahahaha...
Apparently what I told him is in his mind...
Just found it out today....hehehehe..

A chat with Timmy

One day Timmy asked me, "Mom, what happen after you have finished working?"
I was telling him about all the steps that he has to go through, from kindergarten till work.

3-6 years old: Kindergarten
6-12 years old: Primary school
12-15 years old: Junior High School
15-18 years old: Senior High School
18-21 years old: University
21 years old onwards: Work

Then Timmy came up with the question: "What happen after you finished work?"
I told him pension.
Timmy: What is pension Mom?
Me: Pension means that you don't work anymore, you can stay at home and do the things that you wanna do. Like grandma, she is not working anymore now.

Then I add another info, we normally work till the age of 65 years old.

Timmy: "Grandpa is 62 years old.
Grandma is 60 years old. But you said that working age is until 65 years old.
60 is less than 65. So, grandma should be working"

Me: I like your logic Tim! hehehehe.
But grandma is lucky. She has her sons, papa and uncle to support her, to give her money...so she doesn't have to work anymore.

Timmy: (hm...thinking)
I wanna be like that too Mom, when I grow up one day!
Give you and dad money!

Me: Smiling....
