Learning never ends...

I have been wanting to fix this gate. 

Have been procrastinating, 

but couldn't stand the sight of it. 

Udah pengen benerin pagar ini sudah lama. Setiap cuci piring kelihatan, karena sebenarnya juga sudah tidak berfungsi juga. 

Sempat terpikir untuk aku kikis saja ya, gergaji.  Tapi entar lagi, entar lagi. 

I have even asked a proper handyman to do it for me. But he got Covid. So it got postponed again. 

Finally yesterday, I had the will to do it. 

Mumpung cuaca  menghangat lagi. 

Ngeri ngeri juga, because I have never done it in my life. 

Ini kemarin jadi pakai gergaji listrik dan gergaji manual. Sebelum mulai, aku doa dulu dalam hati...

Aku potong jadi 3 bagian, pertama bagian tengah, lalu bagian kiri. Baru bagian kanan. 

 😁

Sekarang cuci piring jadi mendingan pemandangan nya. 

Sempet ngeri ngeri juga tadi. Pertama kali mengerjakan. 

Potong bagian tengah dulu, lalu lapar. Makan dulu. 😁

Potong bagian kiri, nyangkut di bagian samping, keluarin gergaji manual, tarik tarik, copot. 

Potong bagian kanan, sempat ngeri juga, mikir "ini nanti kalo jatuh, nimpa gua ngga ya?" 😂

Potong kirinya dikit, potong yg kanan, yang bagian paling kanannya, deket sama  pipa talang air. Mesti hati-hati. Jadi aku gergaji ke arah yg menjauh dari talang, tarik tarik ke kiri dikit. Berhasil. 😁

Seneng rasanya. 😁

Aku bersyukur banget yang bagian kanan yg gede itu, pas kepotong semua, ngga jatuh ke arah aku, tapi dia jatuh mbleb ke bawah, dan ketahan sama sisa pagar dibawahnya. 🙏 Thank God.

Rabbit. 2019

We were reading the book from the Shimajiro friends, 

there is a rabbit. 

And when we went for the morning walk, 

Andrew liked to visit the Aquamarine Utara no. 20,

 because there is rabbit there. 

We then also brought out the rabbit soft toys, Andrew then can feel the rabbit fur is soft

and compare real life rabbit to those in the book and soft toys. 

This was taken in 2019. 

Andrew was about 2years old. 

Helping Ma with Laundry. 2020.

I always love it when the children were helping me with chores. 

Andrew loves to help me with the laundry washing since he was very young. 

As young as 2 years old. 

In this photo, maybe Andrew was around 3 years old. 

He can helped me to put in the dirty clothes into the washing machine, 

pick up those dry clothes into the basket. 

Mama always lift and hugged Andrew through the first step, because it was steep. 

He would then go down the stairs by himself. 

I love you Andrew.

Parkland

It's the holiday season, and we went to the Park.

It was a coincidence that I went to buy noodle Bakmi Uban in the morning and my mother in law was asking for Lemper.  So, I walked accross to Owen's Mom shop to buy.  I asked Owen's mom, what is Owen doing?   Can I bring him to play?  And his mother said Yes. :)

So, I picked him up and brought the kids to Parkland.

Timmy remembered the last time we went there and he was playing alone.
It wasn't fun to play alone and now that he plays together with Owen, it's much more fun.
So, it's fun to play with friends Tim.

Besides, Owen also likes guns...commented Tim.

Play Time with Uncle and Auntie

The new kind of hat?   Hahaha...

Caterpillar

My backyard garden has given me lots of interesting first time experiences:
1. Seeing earth worm mate...
2. Seeing lots and lots of baby grasshoppers...
3. Seeing beautiful caterpillar and at the same time watching it turning into cocoon.
4. Watching snails crawling by...

Planting Beans

I had these kidney beans that has stayed too long in my fridge and thought of throwing it away. But hey...instead of throwing it away, why not plant it? and see what happens?



So here we are, putting the beans into several different cups...
- into the soil,
- on the cotton,
- just leave it like that in the cup with no medium at all,
- Timmy accidently threw some beans onto our garden,

We then think of several places to put them...
1. Under the sun.
2. In the room, with little sunshine.
3. In the dust bin, where it gets no sunshine at all.

After that, we wrote the steps that we did:




We then left to Bandung for holiday.
By the time we came back, the beans has grown! Interesting!





Conclusion:
The beans that are in the garden, grew straight and tall...
The ones that are in the bin is a bit pale green colour, some are not even growing...
The ones that are in the room, grew tilted and crooked, and tend to grow towards the sun...
The ones that we left without any medium, stays the same...



Timmy gets to learn how plants grow. :)
The beans are not wasted. Yay!


Few weeks later, the plastic pot of the beans fell over, and interestingly the bean grew tilted, with it's stem growing straight towards the sun.

Backyard garden

Snails

We found snails in our garden.
It was Timmy's first time seeing real snails.
Normally he only reads it in the story.
Exciting for him and me. ;)

When we touch the tentacle, it would go in...shortly afterward, come out again. Interesting.

In French restaurant, people would have cook it into yummy escargot.
Don't think that I can swallow it though.

Grasshopper

Our backyard garden had grasshopper attack.
The mother laid eggs on our garden, and as a result we found so many little kinder grasshopper.

It's my first time in my life to see the little grasshopper.
Cute! But yet with so many of them, my growing leaves had holes in it.

Benny came to a rescue od catching the grasshopper with his hands.
Cool! Guess what! We caught nearly 30 little grasshopper with its Mommy.

Put them in the water bottle and let Timmy brought it to school to share it with his friends...hehehehe...

The next day, we release them into the wild. :)

Our Flower Garden in Progress

We have been having fun creating our flower garden, Tari, me and Timmy.
The three of us have been digging soil, taking out big & small rocks, planting flowers...

And here's our flower garden in progress.

Timmy loves to help us.
One day, when I was planting the flower, he had fun making holes for the ants.
According to him, he was making the 'ants' house'. hahahaha...
Timmy said: "Look Mama, it's deep. I made deep holes. See Mama, see it! Look the ant is coming, it's coming!"

After he was bored, he would came to me and tried to borrow my scoop.
Timmy: "Mom, can I borrow your scoop and you use my chopstick instead.Yours can take more soil than mine."

While we were digging, we found big rocks underneath the soil.
Timmy was helping and he said :"Look Mommy, I'm going in the hole! I can see the big rocks there, let's take it out! Urrghhh! It's hard. Maybe Mbak Tari can help."

On some days, he would take out the scissors and gave the leaves some 'hair cut'.
Timmy: "I'm cutting the leaves. The hair is long already. So I cut it."
Cut cut cut...and it's shorter than the others.

When my mother in law came, she was wondering why this one is shorter than the others? I told her, coz Timmy gave it a 'hair cut'. She said: No wonder...hahaha.

After we were tired, Timmy went into the house and prepared 2 glasses of water for me and Tari, put it on the floor mat right at the garden terrace.
Timmy: "Mom, Mbak, I have prepared water for you! Look! Come, let's drink it.
He even took out a packet of Ritz Cheese Biscuit for us. hahahaha...

Our new pet - Hermit Crab

We have our new pet: Hermit Crab!

Bought them at Carita Beach around 2 weeks ago.
As we walked along the sandy beach, there was this guy who was selling hermit crab. At that time, I only wanted to show Timmy the hermit crab.
The man got lots of them in the bucket.
Small ones and big ones.

It was funny to see how they crawl and come out of their shells.
When I put my hands in front of their eyes, they would hide into their shells.

After some time, my dad decided to buy 2 for Timmy.
Then here we go, our first pet!

My brothers used to have them when we were kids.
People used to sell it in front of our school.
They would tie match box with wheels behind the hermit crab shells,
and as they walk the hermit crab would pull these tiny version of cart.
However, when I was a girl, I was not attracted to this thing.

Not until now that we own them.
I love to see they eat and fascinated by it.
We have 2, the black one and the red one.
The black one is more active and eager to roam.
While the red one is less active.
When being put into the land, the black one will roam free and explore.
The red one crawl and hide under a leaf.

Gardening with Grandma

16 July 2009, Timmy was gardening with Grandma after school.
They were having fun together, making splashes in the hot afternoon.


In the afternoon, Timmy was gardening with grandma, watering the plants...
hehehehe...they were having fun together.


And Timmy end up washing the wheels of the car.
I think I don't need to go for a car wash anymore. hehehehe..
