Italy - Bagnoregio

On Indonesia's Independence Day, we visited Bagnoregio.
Civita di Bagnoregio is a town in the Province of Viterbo in Central of Italy, it is about 145 kilometres north of Rome.  We rented a car and drove there.

On the way there, we saw these trees that looks like huge broccoli.
We called it "broccoli tree". Hahahaha..

The view on the way

And we saw this red three wheel car on the way.
It was driving so slowly in front of us.
Timmy called it "Teeettt..."
We were laughing out loud because of its funny name:  Teeeetttt... Hahahaha.

Finally we arrived Civita di Bagnoregio.
It is the birth place of Saint Bonaventura, which happens to be Saint name of the church where Benny and I got married: Paroki Santo Bonaventura.  When I was a student, we used to walk to this church from our school.

It was happy that I could visit this place with my family.
And I thank my hubby who brought us there.
Civita di Bagnoregio has a stunning view from a far.
It has a striking position on top of a plateau of a volcanic tuff overlooking the Tiver river valley.

The city itself has a unique architecture, which remains in its unaltered condition.
A charming medieval city.
The population today varies from about 12 people in winter to over 100 people in summer.
In 2006, the town was placed on the World Monuments Fund's and Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites, due to the threats of erosion.

That day we packed our lunch of: rice with smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes and salad.
We parked our car and walked.

We had to walked quite a distance that day. :)

And guess what we saw?   A donkey! Hahaha.

Yay! We are nearly there!

At the beginning of the bridge.

Finally we reached the City Gate.

Timmy looking at the magnets.

We found another tractor looking vehicle, which reminded us to "Teeetttt".  Hahaha.

This is the church of Saint Bonaventura in Bagnoregio.
In front of it there's piazza and we had our lunch there. :)

Outside the church

Walked along the city

Stunning view

The bridge that we crossed, view from the top of the city.

In the city, among the cafe.

Magnets for sale.

We had a nice tiramisu lemon in this cafe, within the Bagnoregio.

Timmy wanted to pose alone, with Bagnoregio as the background.  Look how straight he stand. Hahaha.

...and we saw this big motor..  Wow!

Father and son walking hand in hand. :)

Looking at the map together.

Choosing the fridge magnet. Hehehe..
